7th Street Kitchenette

Bad situations make good opportunities. This open galley kitchen was the work.group's response to a refrigerator door that refused to fully open before ramming the adjacent wall. As the client was a frequent traveler who did not keep perishable foods, the large refrigerator was exchanged for two smaller fridges at counter level. The galley doors focus on economy in the comically small space. The client also preferred the new kitchen to open to the living space, instead of the front door and bathroom; thus, the separation was reduced and transformed to a seating & serving area. In association with Mariam Mojdehi.
